Acts 1:8 Ministry
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Each month Beach Beacon features a ministry need from our community, our state or from around the world. We collect items that fulfil their needs, send volunteers to help minister to our community and raise funds to allow these missions to provide for their needs and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Acts 1:8 Mission for September:
Vision Virginia Most Southern Baptists can tell you about Lottie Moon and our Christmas Offering for International Missions. We can also tell you about Annie Armstrong and our North American Missions Offering at Easter. But there is a third offering and that is our State Missions Offering ~ Vision Virginia. In Acts 1:8 Jesus begins in Jerusalem, right where the Apostles were. C.T Studd once said, "The light that shines farthest shines the brightest at home." Our Beach Beacon Family Goal for 2023 is $2,700. 100% of the gifts given to Vision Virginia go to support the over 14 ministries that are carried out by the Southern Baptist Conservatives Of Virginia right here in our Jerusalem. We will be collecting your gifts for Vision Virginia through the month of September. You can give monetary donations in person at our Worship Services on Sunday or on-line at our safe and secure giving site: GIVE.

Week of Prayer
Day 1: English as a Second Language Pray that the Lord would empower and provide leaders for English as a Second Language (ESL), bring the lost and needy to ESL ministries, and reach many with the Gospel through ESL ministries. Day 2: Seminarian Scholarships Seeking to obey God’s call, seminary students from SBCV churches benefit from scholarships provided through the Vision Virginia Missions Offering. Pray that God will work through these gifts to encourage His ministers in their formal training. Day 3: Mission Teams Training Before mission teams from churches head to the mission field, training is essential. Pray that more laborers will submit to God’s call and that He will use the training to prepare and use them for His glory. Day 4: Leadership Development Students, collegians, seminarians, and church staff receive many opportunities throughout the year to develop further as relevant leaders. Pray that church leaders will learn from these opportunities and continue to grow into Christlike shepherds. Day 5: Church PlantingThe SBC of Virginia is committed to penetrating lostness through church planting. Pray that God will bless new church plants/planters and that He will continue to provide new planting partnerships with established churches. Day 6: Revitalization Revitalization is a process that helps a struggling church catch a fresh vision for itself and its community to reach more for the Gospel. Pray for the pastors of these churches as they lead their congregations and pray that the churches will be rejuvenated for God’s glory and honor. Day 7: Disaster Relief Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is the third largest responding agency in North America. Praise God for all of the SBCV volunteers trained and ready to respond. Pray that God will raise up many others to be equipped and ready when the need arises. Day 8: Worship Equipment for Church Plants Among the many expenses of launching a new church is the cost of buying the equipment needed to begin corporate worship. Pray that worship leaders at church plants will have access to all that is necessary for their ministry. |
