Acts 1:8 Ministry
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Each month Beach Beacon features a ministry need from our community, our state or from around the world.  We collect items that fulfil their needs, send volunteers to help minister to our community and raise funds to allow these missions to provide for their needs and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:8 Mission for January

The Union Mission Ministries is committed to caring for their homeless guests’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, helping them overcome poverty and build a better future. Most important, they are committed to changing lives forever by sharing the redemptive love of our Savior through the Gospel of Christ.  Every day hundreds of men, women, and children come through The Union Mission's doors needing a safe place to sleep and a healthy meal. Meeting these most basic human needs is often the first step, but not the last, to helping them get back on their feet.

Their services include:

  • Safe, emergency shelter
  • Hot, wholesome meals
  • Showers/toiletry items
  • Clean clothing and laundry access
  • Case management to overcome the causes of homelessness
  • Job-readiness, relational, and life-skills training
  • Wellness and medical care, vision and dental aid, and mental health support
  • Emotional and spiritual counseling
  • Chapel services and Bible studies

This month Beach Beacon is partnering with The Union Mission Ministries by collecting much needed items to meet the needs of the men, women and children that seek refuge at the shelter.  You may also give financially to the Acts 1:8 collection each week at the Welcome Center or through our on line giving portal: Give
